Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Vaccines

Aimed at populations often overlooked in global health funding, neglected tropical disease (NTD) vaccines address illnesses like dengue, Chagas, and lymphatic filariasis. These conditions disproportionately affect communities in low-income settings, causing disability, stigma, and economic burden. Developing vaccines for NTDs requires overcoming scientific, logistical, and economic challenges. Current efforts focus on stabilizing formulations for tropical climates, reducing production costs, and securing long-term immunity with minimal dosing. With growing awareness and multi-stakeholder initiatives, momentum is building to integrate neglected tropical disease (NTD) vaccines into broader health systems, aiming to reduce inequality and improve outcomes in some of the world's most underserved regions.
